WHAT IS FREEMASONRY?
Freemasonry is a system of morality, veiled in allegory and illustrated by symbols. In other words it is an organisation which attempts to improve the character and morals of men in society. It does this by performing a number of rituals or ceremonies which are designed to illustrate those principles. The organisation has a strong charitable base and is involved in giving to many causes both within the organisation and equally to the rest of the world. Freemasonry is not a secret society but some of the rituals contain ‘secrets’ which are included to enhance the meaning of the subject matter.
